Firefly Warrington fire tests: Firefly performance fire clips, for all overhead wiring systems, have been awarded eight Warrington Fire Certificates for their BS7671:2015 A3 compliant range of clips. The Certificates represent a major coup for Firefly Fixings Ltd – our entire range of inside/outside trunking clips is now proven in extreme conditions.
Firefly Performance Fire Clips are a unique, spring-loaded design which press closer into substructure as a fire takes hold, making the risk of overhead cables falling almost impossible. In the tests at Warrington in July 2017 using performance Prysium Plus fire alarm cable, the clips stayed in place as temperatures reached 970C for 120 minute duration.
These tests were different from other Warrington Fire Tests for overhead cable clips where only the cable itself is tested at 970C, not the integrity of the clips. Warrington were asked to test the integrity of the Firefly CLIPS. We are thrilled at the result which was predicted, but nice to have our range proven in extreme conditions. We can now PROVE they are performance clips. Our tests were unique – we call them the Firefly Warrington Fire Tests.
Fast to install and rigidly held once in place, especially on ceilings, they have the added advantage that cables can be simply and quickly added or replaced. They perform with all brands of trunking and cabling.
As well as keeping wiring systems firmly in place, even under extreme pressurised water load and banging, Firefly fire clips are used for permanent holding of all cabling anywhere in the construction or refurbishment environment.
